^^^ My daughter's name is Brooke. Not Brooklyn. I loathe people if they ask me if Brooklyn is her full name. It's Brooke - it means small river. Not a city in New York. The name Paris also bothers me.
But lets talk about Ethan and Adalyn (and all the spelling derevations). In my daughters daycare class, there are 12 children. 4 Ethans and 2 Adalyns. In the class below her there are 12 kids - 3 Adalyns, and 2 Ethans. I fear we are going to have a generation in which a quarter of them will have the same name.

Names go in cycles. My mom's generation was full of Lucilles, Bettys, Elizabeths (full name), Ednas. My generation has Cathy/Kathy, Debbie, Cindy, Susan etc.

Let me show you the PNM list from 2012 and 2013. I think there is a record number of Madisons (Maddysohn, Mattison,) and even more Taylors (Teighlohr, Teylor) with almost as many Megan/Meghans, Morgans, Rachels, with a healthy smattering of Olivias, Samanthas/Sams, Sarahs/Saras/ Shelbys, and Baileys.

But far and away, more than any other name: Alex/Alix/Alyx/Allixa/Allie/Alli/Ali/Alee/Allee/Ally/Aly (deep breath) Alexi/Alexis/Alexandra/Allison/Alison.

I predict, in 18 years, a big run on Rhianna/Ryannah/Rihanna.

These names are not rumors; I have personally seen them on adoption sites. There was a set of sisters available for adoption on one site and their names were Latrina and LaTrasha. I would think that mean kids called them Latrine and Trashy. Currently, one state has Tillandousrubues for adoption and another has Sibongiseni.
