And I would phrase the question something like this :"I completed 6 hours of college credit during Summer C. Will the sororities be looking at that GPA or my HS GPA or both?
After you get that answer (and I hope they give you an answer, not the party line "grade requirements and membership selection are confidential and vary from sorority to sorority"), base your decision dependent on what the answer is. If you feel that you stand a better chance waiting until spring recruitment, retake the class you got the D in [which means taking it this fall] (and someone advised look into grade forgiveness-you should) and working your butt of to get the best grades you can-study, study, study! In addition, you should get involved in at least one campus activity.
