There are regional differences. I have gotten rec requests as president of our local alumnae chapter, and I am not at all offended by this.
Yep. Around here, even with a very helpful Alumnae Panhellenic, people know how important recs are in this part of the country and understand why PNMs reach out wherever they can. Our Alumnae chapter gets requests every year. They just forward them to our local rec chair (who is me).
