Ok, I'm in this. This week, you only pay 1 cent processing fee for auctions you win- you don't have to pay the actual bid amount. So you only pay for bids and that 1 cent processing fee. So far, I spent $32 on bids (at 16 cents each during a sale). I've gotten $35 in gift cards. There were two auctions I didn't win after spending a lot of bids. I bought the gift cards at face value and got all my bids back. So at this point, I have more bids than I started with and am $3 ahead. The gift cards I bought at face value are for a place I do all my grocery shopping anyway, so I'm not out anything and it's money I'd have spent anyway.
There are definitely some strategies to this. Now I'm watching until an auction is close to ending. Because you can set up bid buddy to automatically bid for you, you can tell when it is down to 5 or 6 people. I'm watching one and when it goes down to 2 people, I'm setting up a bid buddy.
At this point, anything I get is free to me.
