Blessings on all of these! May my sister adpimiz's health improve without having anything serious happen. May the wounded man continue to improve and let his brain be left normal, if not better, and may his family's worries be in Your heavenly hands. And may the friendship that bloomed in Viet Nam be restored. Viet Nam did enough to the people of our country, let the troubles be over and healing continue.

We humbly ask for all of this, on this eve of thanksgiving.

I have a request now. The daughter of a friend of mine, Kristin, is 18, just started college, and was just diagnosed as having Hodgkin's Disease. She's taking this very maturely, but obviously, everyone is devastated. She starts chemo on Monday (December 3). Would you please keep Kristin and her family in prayer? Thanks so much!

Praying.

I just took my Tri-Delta friend to the airport; she's going home to be with her mother who is in hospice. She is given weeks to live. Prayers appreciated

Keeping her in my prayers! How tragic.

Prayers coming your way, too, SWTXBelle.

I don't know if you want to hear a blow by blow report, but Kristin won't start chemo until next Friday, December 7th. Today a port was put in her chest to make it easier to receive it, then she had other tests.

Sadly, she's also a sometimes binge eater (but not purger, which surprises me), and since she's not permitted to do her usual workout, her parents are afraid that she'll be binging more often.

1st, y'all are on the prayer list.
2nd: I'm not sure how familiar you are with chemo. It tends to create severe nausea and zaps energy. Even with the anti-nausea medication, people often aren't able to keep much food down. It's possible she won't be interested in binge-ing (binging doesn't look right). Chemo is so rough on families, sometimes I feel like if it harder than the cancer. With cancer, people can look completely healthy, but with chemo there is a definite change in appearance.

I'm a geriatric counselor. I've seen my share of post-chemo nausea! She has a thick head of long, blonde hair, and I'm afraid to mention to her mother that maybe it would be best if Kristin got her hair cut now.
