Would you say that your bird is affectionate? Or is it more like a random bird in a cage who doesn't care about people so much?
I want a pet that's going to be interested in hanging out with me, but not on the level as say, a cat or dog.

Parrots (I believe the Sun Conue is in the parrot family) tend to be more acknowledging of their owners. My roommate and I had a parrot (African grey), two cockatiels (all hers) and a parakeet (mine), and the cocks and the keet didn't give a crap - ok, they gave lots if craps, just not about us. LOL. You'll want to learn how to clip their wings - it's very easy and equivalent to us cutting our hair.
