The pods are a different gel. The pellets for dishes are pretty caustic - (very basic) so that is why they tell you to try to avoid touching them. It works great to dissolve or digest food particles and grease/oil on ceramics or glass. They can ruin the coatings on anything non-stick over time.

Another reason not to put non-stick pots and pans in the dishwasher. (Or as far as I'm concerned, another reason to avoid non-stick cookware altogether. Not a fan.)

As for pots and pans:



It keeps me from getting angry when I do dishes.

This stuff is the BOMB. It even polishes brass. But I ran out recently and haven't been back to the store to get more. this makes me angry.

Oh and 4th grade helicopter parents that get mad at the teacher for deducting points when the kids turn work in late. The teacher was shocked when I asked her to take points off my son's project because he turned it in late. She actually thanked me for trying to teach him a lesson.

Yes barkeepers friend rocks!!

Also non-stick pots are bad for your health unless you take the utmost care of them and replace them every 5 years or so. Never use anything that could scratch the coating. Also do not stack your non-stick pans unless you place something in between to protect the coating.
