The colony would be an excellent opportunity but do keep in mind that it can be at least as competitive as normal rush so don't consider it your fallback position. It's kind of a tricky balance because AGD won't be interested taking the leftovers, but also colony recruitment generally happens AFTER formal rush. You can't back up to formal rush if the colony doesn't turn out well for you, but you will likely be forced to make a decision during rush whether you want to accept what you've been offered or drop out and wait for the colony. And no, NOBODY can or will tell you what to do. This is one of those grown up decisions that nobody wants to make. You'll have to decide that for yourself. Good luck!
