Definitely read up on South Carolina recruitment (and SEC recruitment in general) - it is competitive but doing all the right things (like lining up recs) will help you have your best shot possible.
There will be a new chapter colonizing in 2012 (Alpha Gamma Delta) and that may be another opportunity to keep in mind as colonizing chapters typically are interested in talking to girls from all classes.
