Let your parents know that by waiting it may make things worse which = more expense (ie more time in hospital, sometimes they come into the emergency clinic at night-where I work, we charge about 3 times what a day practice charges-again more expense). I see people wait days and the cat then is really sick and requires more treatment. Obviously I don't know if this is the case with your cat but it is best to seek attention immediately so this does not happen. Good luck.
