Bumpity.

Are there any specific brands that are lower dosage?

I'm looking at it as a way to get my cycle regulated. My periods are close together and not regular and that would be fine, but I get crazy bad PMS, and don't realize that's why I'm tearing off people's heads until the period's actually here.

I've only been on "ultra-low" formulas. Currently I'm on Mircette, which was my very first pill and I've gone back to it. It only has two placebo days, and the last 5 days have even less estrogen than the first 21. Also been on Alesse and Loestrin.

The Nuvaring is low dose and I've found it to be the best thing that ever happened to me, birth control wise. I don't have to remember much other than insert, remove three weeks later, wait a week, insert new ring. I have used it continuously while in the field, or to reschedule if I know I'm going to be traveling, an event, or something high stress. I've been a dedicated user for almost four years.

One side effect has been a delayed period, like a week and sometimes I barely have a period since I put in the new ring before I have it. Putting it in is no problem, sometimes removal takes a little finesse. TMI but no matter which tampons I've used I always am aware of their presence, not so with the Nuvaring.

The thought of insertion (not to mention removal) squicks me out in the extreme.

On another note, the guy I thought was completely blowing me off made contact tonight...so if you ever have that problem, try bumping this thread.

I found the insertion was difficult, my Dr. inserted the first one and she had difficulty. I continued to have problems and decided it was not for me. Also, I know of 2 other woman that tried the ring and said their boyfriends did not enjoy the experience so to speak
