You probably shouldn't publicly admit to hazing your NMs. (Unless, of course, all the initiated sisters - no matter what their age - give up alcohol during the new member period as well.)

See I thought that was considered hazing but wasn't sure.

It's been considered hazing since the 1970s. The fact that the majority of NMs at some schools are underage does NOT make it OK. When you think about it, even mentioning it is kind of incriminating as it implies other underage members DO drink - kind of like Congress saying up and down that there's no such thing as the Mafia and then having a Mafia Task Force.

if something is in the (inter)national sororities procedure (idk if the previously mentioned scenario is), would it still be considered hazing?

Unless DG was founded as a Junior Temperance Union, NWIH is this in international procedure.

And yes, there are things that used to be done and terms that used to be used that aren't anymore. I think some of these have way overcompensated and effed with the beauty and point of why they were done...but that's another thread.
