The Society of Agricultural Engineers-Philippines was founded in the 1940s and later changed their name to Sigma Alpha Epsilon, wanting to immitate our Fraternity. At one point an actual brother in SAE visited the Philippines, discovered this group, and thinking they were members attempted to make contact. As a result, then-ESR (now-ESDA) Ken Tracey sent them some copies of The Phoenix as a possible extension interest, but abandoned the idea after discovering the Philippine group's regular practice of hazing, usually in the extreme. This being wholly inconsistent with The True Gentleman and our Ritual, no extension effort was ever put into place and no official recognition was ever given in any way, shape, or form to any Philippine group. The complete absence of any affiliation with our Fraternity notwithstanding, the Philippine group has taken it upon itself to make frequent and liberal use of all of our trademarks, servicemarks, and any identifying information and logos they can get their hands on. All such individuals have been banned from GreekChat as confirmed perps.
