I guess I am the only Arkansan who will come to the defense of my beloved home state. We are not backwards. We just have REALLY bad PR people. Granted there are some kinda scarry people in the mountains up in north arkansas, we just pretend they live in Missouri. Yes, we did give you Clinton, and we are sorry for that. We tried to warn you, but no one took us seriously!
Also, Arkansas is NOT the midwest.. we are southern thru and thru. In my travels, I have never met a person who could not understand me. I cannot say the same for some of the people I have met. Boston accents are scarry. I still am not sure what my best friend's grandmother was saying to me that one day.
Arkansas is not backwards - we just act that way to keep all the damn yankees from coming down and spoiling our state parks!
