I'm so glad you said this, because it's a really big pet peeve of mine when people say that we "freak out" or "whine" about big snows when we get it. One of my friends had a facebook status up about how it was stupid that we were making such a big deal about this blizzard because he lives in Iowa. ARRRGG! The point
is WE DON'T LIVE IN IOWA! It's a big deal because we aren't prepared for it. A lot of people in this area (at least my neighbors) don't even own snow shovels! We don't have snow tires or chains, and our cities don't put a lot of money into snow preparedness and clean-up. Obviously it's going to be a bigger deal here than it would be in the Midwest! End rant.
