They did, it was called "Spaceballs". Not that Disney would have gone anywhere near the subject.

A Disney treatment of the book of Esther might be interesting even though she was never a princess, though.

However I don't know if any actual Jewish Princess are identified by name in the Books of Kings, say a daughter of Solomon.

*bump*

I was going to flip out as to why there was no thread for this, but alas, here it is. So who saw it? What'd you think, did you like it?

I loved it! There were some parts that I thought could've been better (the music for one), but it was a cute storyline. I liked Tiana's personality and how she was such a hard worker. I'll leave out details until more people have seen it but feel free to chime in.

I havent seen it yet but....

I am so looking forward to seeing this movie, I was in Florida at Disney World over the weekend and we visited Magic Kingdom, I was so excited to see that there was a show dedicated to our African American Princess Tiana. I just warmed my heart to see how well this story is being excepted and to see the little girls walking around the park with their Tiana dolls and some dressed up as Tiana (all races). I am truly excited and cannot wait to see it!

As for a Jewish princess... I was pretty young when this came out, but wasn't there one (or something that at least can fit into the Disney Princess family) in the Prince of Egypt?

I saw The Princess and the Frog this weekend, and I absolutely loved it! Of course, I'm an animation nut so you can't really go by me, but I thought it was right up to par with Beauty and the Beast and my favorite, The Little Mermaid.

I'm actually going to go see it again! Once you see the movie, I think most people will agree that a lot of the controversy was really unfounded.

See I was thinking that as well, but Prince of Egypt wasn't Disney. It was Dreamworks.

Oh, whoops.

Same thing happened to me with Anastasia... I think in my mind anything animated from that time was Disney.

Yep, it was Don Bluth for Fox. Same guy who did Thumbelina and Titan AE (and the animated sequence from Xanadu.) If you notice, all of the guys in those movies look exactly the same!

The movie was FAMZING! I loved it. I loved Tiana's attitude and the way the relationship with Naveen developed and the choices they made.

I won't see it until around Christmas Eve or so. I'm taking my niece when I go home for the holidays.

All the little girls in the family loved the movie. One of them even decided have a Princess and the Frog cake. Most of the adults agreed that it was a good movie, but not one of the classics like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Lion King. More on par with Tarzan, and Pocahontas.
