P: Where is it?
CS: In the car, in the service bay.
P: Why is it in the service bay?
CS: We had already started working on it when he found it.
P: We need to see this right away.

All three leave. While I am sitting there trying to figure out what I had overheard (guns, a body, a body part!?!?!), my service rep came back and got me. On the way to my Jeep I noticed LOTS of policemen all around and asked him what the deal was.

Apparently someone had dropped off their car in the night service area (you lock your car, fill out the form, then put the keys and the form in the night deposit box) the night before.

He forgot to remove the 2 lbs of heroin before dropping off his car!!!
OT, but this reminds me of the time that I drove a vehicle with 33 pounds of cocaine packed in the doors.

Several years ago an idiot rented a truck in State A and his rental contract said he wouldn't leave the state. He later tried to make a U-turn in the grass median of a major interstate in State B. It had been raining quite a bit, so he got stuck in the mud in the median and the truck was towed. I worked in risk management for the rental company so we picked up the vehicle from the impound and refused to give it back to the guy who rented it, because he wasn't allowed to be out of state. I drove it for a good 10-15 miles on the interstate myself, bringing it back to the office.

The guy who rented it showed up later that day to claim his personal belongings, which I had gathered and itemized for him as per our procedure. He claimed that I missed his "wallet," so I took him out to the truck so he could "look for it." He opened up every door, said he must have been mistaken, and left. Then I shipped it down to a local body shop because it was badly out of alignment from getting stuck in the mud. I can only imagine how pissed he was when he showed up at our office in the middle of the night to break into the vehicle and it wasn't there! The next day the police got a tip, showed up at the body shop, and found 33 pounds of cocaine packed in the doors.
