I understand why panhellenics adopt the rule that you'll be dropped if you skip class for rush. That being said, in the absence of that rule, it's perfectly possible to skip class for an activity that matters to you and still have academics as priority #1. Skipping one Wednesday night lecture for rush doesn't mean greek life outranks academics for you. If just means that it outranks this one lecture for you.
