If you rushed, and did not receive/accept a bid during spring recruitment, you are eligible to participate in formal recruitment this fall.

Allow me to be a little honest (just my opinion):

I'd take this sister's story with a grain of salt because it might not be the truth.

Generally speaking, if a sorority is interested in you and has spots available, they will bid you (whether they are interested in your friends or not).

Her explanation of why you weren't given a bid sounds like someone trying to come up with a reason that doesn't hurt your feelings (and doesn't reveal private membership selection info).

If you're going to go through recruitment, keep your options open and don't have your heart set on this sorority.
