Perhaps it's because I have never gone to school that had then, but I think it's so odd. Is this group recognized by Kappa Alpha Psi as an official thing?

Krimson Kourt
KAPsi nationally does not recognize any of these auxilliary and "little sister" groups.

Oh ok, well then what's the point of joining it?
I think there's another one called Kappa Diamonds I heard of here on GC.
I mean, perhaps it's my naive NPC mind, but why go through all that for K and a <>? You just pledged a letter and a shape. Seriously? Like Sesame Street.

Some of these organizations have become their own entities and operate independently of these frats but still acknowledge their history, etc.
There are a few of these organizations for each of the BGLO frats. The only frat that nationally and officially recognizes their auxilliary is the Iotas with the Iota Sweethearts.
There are people who wonder why we go through ANYTHING for our symbols and so forth. I don't think too highly of auxilliaries in general but my opinion varies by the campus. Some of the auxilliary members I knew 10+ years ago were really great women who were extremely active on campus and in the community. 99% of the ones I knew used it as a stepping stone to a BGLO sorority.

I'm would think that auxiliaries were very different when they were accepted as actual auxiliaries of the various organizations than they are today. And, I can't begin to understand why membership in an auxiliary would help with membership in a BGLO unless other auxiliary members were also part of the organization of preference. But, as that is a private issue of membership selection, I will see my way out.

On some campuses, it's just like networking in any other campus organizations; learning and researching along with an informal and unofficial interest group that was formed by the women themselves; or a way for some young ladies to figure out if and why they want to be in a sorority beyond the informal sisterhood of an auxilliary.
This is not membership information.

Which makes sense...so why join an auxiliary rather than a service organization or something of that sort? I don't presume that you have any clue why someone would make the choice, so I'll leave it as a rhetorical question.

Now I've got this image of all of the Sesame Street characters going through the process...
Oscar as Pledgemaster?
Count von Count going "52. 52 push-ups ah-ah-ah"
"elmo loves getting ready for probate"
Of course, most of them normally don't have feet, so the stepshow would be rather odd.
Though to the average non-greek, is a woman joining a group represented by a K and a Diamond any stranger than joining a group represented by a K and a Triangle? (Kappa Delta (an NPC sorority))
