The one taking a bite from the banana is obviously a juggler, she's holding a juggling pin!.
Maybe they were showing their hobbies? There are a couple holding books, one holding flowers...
Or, judging from their caps, they're graduates. Maybe each item they're holding signifies their major, and the one holding the banana majored in botany?
PS: The one holding flowers is not sitting like a lady!
