Even if it were true, what purpose does it serve to lament on it?
Education in Africa on AIDS, how it is contracted, and the fact that there is NO immunity is something we really need to focus our efforts on.
If I hear of another six month old baby being gang raped in South Africa, I think I might go insane (literally). In S. Africa there is a widespread rumor that sex with a virgin will prevent you from catching AIDS.
Now, how we can combat this gross misconception is a bigger problem than what the purpose for the disease might be.
And lets not forget that AIDS in the African-American coomunity is so disproportionate that WE must take responsibilty for what we are or what we are not doing, for what behaviors we engage in that have allowed this disease to fester among us.
At this point in time, who "created" it is much more insignificant to what we can do to get rid of it.
We've got bigger problems than that
