I sgree 100%.

If you have all these negative feelings about her hanging around, I'm willing to bet you probably aren't being very nice to her when she's there. When he feels that his friend is not welcome, that's going to cause conflict and eventually resentment.

Don't be "That Girl" who has an attitude with every single girl who walks through the door for him, thinking that she wants your man. You know, the girl who doesn't speak, but just sulks and gives dirty looks until they leave. My friend had a live-in gf who was like this and we always thought she was a total bitch.
