My cousin's rush at USC

Convo Day 2.....

My cousin went to see the rest of the houses that she wasn't able to go to on the first day. Today she went to:


Kappa Kappa Gamma
Alpha Delta Pi
Delta Delta Delta
Sigma Delta Tau


I wasn't able to get much descriptions out of her (we played phone tag) except for that she thought the Kappa house was really pretty and she really loved it there!!

So after these 2 days the cuts start. The PNM's were to choose their top 7 to go to and cut 3. My cousin chose to cut:

Gamma Phi Beta
Sigma Delta Tau
Alpha Chi Omega

When we talked she said out of all the houses she saw over the first 2 days, her top three faves were DG (1), Kappa (2), and Theta (3)

Day 3 was House Tours!!

This was the first day cuts were made, and PNM's could go to a max of 7 parties.My cousin had a full schedule of 7!!

She went to:

DG
Theta
Kappa
PiPhi
AXO
ADPi
Tri Delt


DG-This was her first choice after the first couple of days, but not so much on Day 3. She was first paired with a sister she really clicked with, but then was paired with another girl who she felt so awkward with. Conversation with girl 2 was really tough and there was no connection. She left the house not feeling so great about them.

Theta-They defiantely moved up on her list after house tours! She really liked it here and met alot of girls.

Kappa-another fave!! She had a great time here and was introduced to alot of sisters! She felt like special attention was paid to her here and she was really flattered. Definately a top fave for her!

PiPhi-She likes it here but isn't so sure about their campus reputation as a whole. On campus, PiPhi is known as the party girls (now don't get mad at me, I'm saying this to make a point) but she felt like-the girls are so much more than that, and they are so involved, and she didn't love that that was how they were known.

AXO-She had dropped them after Day 2 but was asked back for house tours. Again, she just wasn't feeling them.

ADPi-Didn't click with the girls and just wasn't feeling it here.

Tri Delt-She did have a good day here; likes it as much as she liked Pi Phi but isn't really sure.

At the end of House Tours, the pnm's drop 2 houses, so my cousin chose to drop:

On to Day 4...Video Day!!

This was a 5 party max day and my cousin again got a full schedule of 5 parties!!
She went to:

DG
Kappa
Tri Delt
PiPhi
Theta

DG-its funny how things change over the course of the week because when she started, she was so in love with DG and now at the end of day 4, they have just fallen off her list. She said that they weren't rushing her as hard as they had at first and that, while she still liked them, there were others that she loved more.

Kappa-again, loved it!! She said that while she was here she just had the best time, and was so comfortable, and had a huge smile on her face when she left. She really loved it here! Plus, Kappa is a popular house on campus right now, so she felt good that they kept asking her back and that they were rushing her so hard.

Tri Delt-at the end of the day, she knew that she would be dropping this house, as she just wasn't in love with it. Just not the right fit for her.

Pi Phi-she likes the girls, but not their reputation (deserved or not). Not a fit for her.

Theta-her second fave!! She loved it here and said when she left she had a huge smile on her face!! She loves the girls and said that when she's there, she already feels like they're her best friends. She raved about how down to earth they were and how well rounded they are-she loved that they were so involved and have the highest GPA on the row.


At the end of the day, the pnm's have to narrow it down to two houses for pref. My cousin decided to drop :

Pi Phi



She called me that night and told me how torn she was between Kappa and Theta. She loved them both so much and told me all the reasons why. It was hard for her because Kappa is so popular right now and I'm sure she felt great that she was being rushed so hard there. But she kept going on and on about how awesome Theta was-to me it sounded like her heart was already with Theta. I told her to go with her gut, both are wonderful, and she knows best which would be best for her.

The next day is Pref and Bid Day.......

...Just to clarify the pnms rank the chapters. If a pnm is not invited back to a particular chapter another chapter will fill in the spot if she is on their invitation list.

Excited to see how it turns out! I have very close friends in both Kappa and Theta at USC (and DG and ADPi for that matter...no Alpha Phis though which is ironic) so I am super stoked to see which sorority she ends up in!! Little hijack, but I think the Theta house at USC is quite possibly the cutest sorority house I have ever seen...it's like a little Barbie Malibu Mansion.
