Often, the above mention ladies would be there as well. But in addition to them, on many campuses - Kentucky (UK) being one of them - a different sorority chapter would be invited to attend one of the rush parties. The exception being an "invite only" (i.e. formal dinner) event.
Just to clarify: At my chapter, the women were only invited to the 'get to know you' type of rush parties. The last rush party before bid day ('The Smoker') was members and pnms only.

Agreed. If you insist on having girls there, you should have it be just dates of brothers and rushes. It should really be a point of interaction between you and the rushes, to show you are a brotherhood in reality as well as in name.

I almost said "Smoker" instead of "formal dinner".
