What a great thread! Ok, for boys.... the name Anthony has dreadful associations for me. Every Anthony I have ever taught has been a nightmare. For girls, Amanda. Oh, and the name Ashley...I haven't had any difficult girls named Ashley, just really chatty ones. I had 2 kids named Dylan one year, both dreadful. I heard some "interesting" names, too. Like the kid named Juvee who is always sent to my class for detention...

Wow, that P.E. class list a few pages back reminded me of one of my High School Classes. In a class of about 30 we had:

Jesse, Jessica 1, Jessica 2, Jessica 3, Jennifer 1, Jennifer 2, Johanna, Jordie, Jodie, Josie, Johnny and Jordan.

Was your classroom at the Duggar's dining room table?

It could've been, lol. That's what my teacher said when she read the roll call. "Who are you guys, the Duggars?" Needless to say it made for an interesting semester.

Michael- I used to like this name until I had a total a$$ of a student, now I can't stand it. (This kid was beyond wretched, he called me a f***ing slut, f***ing whore and f***ing bitch, and he was still in my room the next day).

Result of a discussion on this topic in the teachers' lounge: the top names they won't name their kids are geographical names like Dakota, Austin, and Savannah, as well as initial nicknames that end with J: AJ, DJ, TJ, etc.

during my student teaching, i had a Brallan in my class. i looked and frowned, couldnt figure out how the heck to pronounce it, so i skipped it and asked at the end if i forgot anyone. half the class yelled "you forgot Brian"...i dont mind creative spelling, but the double LL in english is double LL lol!

Went to my god-daughter's pre-K graduation party the other day, and I am fairly certain that every other little girl in the class is named Emma. I never knew how popular that name was.

Just like Ross and Rachel's daughter on Friends! That was about 5 years ago too, huh?

If in 5 years, there will be a lot of Serenas and Blairs, I will be SOOO happy.

I've realized that - after they named their baby Emma, the name EXPLODED! At least every other baby girl I've known of who was born since then's been named Emma.

There will probably be a shitload of Edwards and Bellas in 5-10 years, and probably quite a few Alices, Jaspers, Rosalies and Emmetts, too.
