Obviously these kids saw/heard something or one or more kids in the bunch may have been sexually abused. Kids don't just come up with these ideas. They are influenced by what they see and hear, not just on T.V./radio but in their homes and communities. We certainly can't work as a society to change things if some of us don't even know what's going on.

I certainly don't live in a fantasy world...I've seen my share of tragically abused children. Unfortunately, many of those stories are burned in my memory forever. However, I do not believe that there is more child abuse and child sexual abuse today than there was in the past. We just hear about it more on the news. If the priest sex scandal in the Catholic church is any example, this type of abuse has been widespread for decades but carefully swept under the rug. Simply attributing this kind of behavior to the "society" we live in is underestimating the problem. Yes...I wonder where these kids get this idea, the same as I wonder how NYC policemen got the idea to sodomize Amadou Diallo all those years ago. Maybe these children were abused at some point, but there needs to be some accountability beyond "I did it because I saw it on tv or down the street."
