Remind me of what this country's culture is.

How many posts have you been reading, "new person?"

Now, does this diversion attempt mean that you can't remind me of what this country's culture is?

To be fair I fully agree with him. You point out mistakes, make jokes that aren't funny, take things out of context, and ask people to define things when it's obvious what it meant. And then act like you somehow have made this site so much better with your presence that you would be indispensable.

So this means you can't answer my question, either?

How many trolls/sockpuppets/whatever does it take to change a light bulb?

None. That's what pledges are for.

How many posts does it take to do something other than make accusations and ask inane questions?

I haven't accused you of being an idiot yet. If you couldn't answer the question about American culture, you shouldn't have inserted yourself.

What we had before it became acceptable for oiled-up gay men in full bondage gear to parade through the streets of downtown Atlanta every year. If heterosexuals did that they would be arrested instantly. Not to compare gays in fraternities to that, but a view on the changes in our culture which the South generally protests and rightly so.

That doesn't answer my question but it leads to a question:

So you have a problem with oiled up gay men in full bondage gear parading around. Not with gay men who live their lives just as you should live yours, only with a man?

I don't personally think it's acceptable, but I also believe quite strongly in personal rights and they can do whatever they want as long as it's not around me. If they're in my fraternity, that creates a very, very uncomfortable situation for all involved. And just to state simple fact, it's not going to be allowed in 95% of Southern fraternities. I can only think of one here with an openly gay brother, and they're quite small.

I understand what you mean about comfort level and not wanting others to intrude on that.

From fear of repeating something from earlier in this interesting thread:

Going beyond the GLO aspect of it all, the average homosexual arguable isn't a fan of oiled up gay men parading around in bondage gear and would agree that it wears down America's moral fabric. Gays and lesbians cover the ideological and political spectrum and many also fight for what they perceive to be salvaging America's "culture" (although I'm still unsure about what our culture really is). Yet and still, homosexual conservative Republicans have a difficult time, even if their lives are no more controversial than anyone else's, aside from loving men.

PT-While I think I understand what you are trying to say, you need to use a better legal analogy.

You'd have to elaborate, it was not my intent to use a "legal" analogy whatever that may be. I was just trying to use an obvious and graphic analogy.

And it was legally incorrect.
You indicated that heterosexuals would be arrested. Given same situation, they would not be.
As for the rest, as I indicated, I believe I understood.

I think the problem that Jon was pointing out with your analogy is if heterosexual men applied for a street permit to put on a "BDSM" parade and were granted said permit, they could parade down the streets in that gear without getting arrested. My guess is this yearly parade in Atlanta that you refer to is permitted and sanctioned by the city.

Stepping back out of the arguement now
