Six SDSU Fraternities Placed On Suspension as a Result of Drug-Related Arrests
As a result of a San Diego State University Police investigation into drug trafficking/sales, six SDSU fraternities have been placed on interim suspension.

The six fraternities include: Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Theta, Theta Chi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Sigma Alpha Mu.

According to James Kitchen, SDSU's Vice President of Student Affairs, the fraternities have been suspended pending a hearing into evidence gathered. Several fraternity members were among the SDSU students arrested as part of the investigation – which included an extensive undercover operation in tandem with the Drug Enforcement Agency.

To provide updated information on the investigation and arrests, SDSU has established a special Web site for students, parents, faculty/staff and members of the public at http://www.sdsu.edu/information.

This is truly a sad day in State's history (Folks from SDSU call it "State")...

We'll go back to the anti-greekness on campus culminating by the mid-1990's...

It was FUGLY in the early 1990's... Greeks were ousted from all on campus activities relegated to parties prior to greek row being built.

LXA recharted at State just a couple of years ago....so much for that re-start effort.

This is just....shocking.

LX's back in 1988, used to hang out at the LX house all the time when I was in SD in the Navy. Good guys, great memories. Now, all that remains are memories.

Idiots.

Someone else posted this could bring down the entire State Greek system. I would not be surprised.

Okay so far, its just been fraternities implicated in all of this. However... I think we all know that if THIS many fraternities were selling drugs, at least some of their buyers were probably sorority sisters.

Do you think we'll see sororities implicated in this? If those fraternities are being placed on suspension and I'm sure that all the other fraternities are being scrutinized... its seems that the sororities will be looked at as well.

Honestly this seems like it could just continue and get worse and worse and turn into a huge clusterf***. Not that it isn't already...

Sadly, I think it will get worse as the media's investigation delves deeper into this issue. And some sorority members will get implicated because the accused will go for plea bargains when the lawyers become involved.

And unfortunately, State will force many folks off the campus... In fact some admins might be fired from their positions, depending on high up the food chain this things goes--i.e. how long did the school know about these issues before exacting any actions?

I am cringing at this right now because I believe it's only a matter of time before names start coming out.
