I would also suggest reading some of the threads in our recruitment section to learn as much about the process as possible. Be sure and read some of the recruitment story threads too... it is common for PMNs to have their heart set on a chapter only to be cut. However, in the end they end up in a different house and more happy than they could have dreamed.
One key thing to keep in mind is that you must be *invited* to join a particular group. Each chapter only has a limited number of bids that they can give, so be careful having the thought that there is a particular group "that you plan on pledging."
