Yeah, I can see jeans being okay for most outdoor stuff where there's real potential for getting messy.

For the next highjack, I suggest discussing the use of the word "chino" versus "khakis." I wonder if it's regional or age related. My family seems to use both.

But we can save that for another day.

A lot of guys out west wear jeans because we have this season called winter and it snows. But there's a definite split between the Wranglers guys and the Levis guys. I have yet to see jorts on guys during rush, but some do wear jeans.

Lots of fratties rock the Carhartts because there is definite potential to go directly from class, to the pick up with the dog in it, to some outdoor activity.

LOL -- I was thinking the same thing. "Khaki" is a color; chinos are an article of clothing, which may come in khaki or in some other color. But yes, "khakis" seems to be accepted for khaki chinos. I laugh when I hear someone refer to "navy khakis," though. I mean, its not the sartorial equivalent of "Coke" -- acceptable regardless of whether one is actually referring to Co'Cola.

Maybe it's both regional and {shudder} age related.
