Um....
Fraternity, Sorority, and a Society.
They should add Joke to the list. That was mean but I'm sorry. I read some of the stuff on their website and I'm just confused...

A Fraternity, a Sorority and a Society were out one day playing a round of golf...

Whoa! LOL! Does that big "2008" in the right hand corner indicate the founding year? I can appreciate the work they're doing.

I thought the same thing until they bragged that they were here before being "multicultural" and stuff were cool.

See, what I was thinking was that they existed under another name in the 80s and got resurrected and renamed recently. And I dunno, but I have a problem with this.
Case in point, The Fraternal Order of Beaux, Inc., more commonly known as the Delta Beaux/Gents (for which this dude once tried to recruit me) seems to have evolved into a Greek-letter service fraternity called Gamma Beta Chi. And yes, change and evolution are good, but dudes.... Gamma Beta Chi was not founded in 1959.... to their credit, it was a good strategic move to distance themselves from a reputation of sidekickery and/or the unfortunate stereotype that most Beaux were gay.

Part of it felt like a pyramid scheme almost.

I'm humored at the evolution of the Beaux/Gents.
Despite its original purpose in the 1950s, depending on who you ask they escorted Sorors to class and some were the boyfriends of Sorors, there are Beaux/Gents and Deltas who took that organization to the extreme. That's neither here nor there. I guess it's good that they have their own since they were never officially affiliated with us, anyway.

I did feel like Pre-paid Legal started a frat when I read the site. Their interest meetings consist of a wing platter and a power point presentation about how "this is only as profitable as you make it."

First Multicultural Fraternity Sorority Society?
When were these people founded? If they were founded recently (as in no more than 2 years ago), then they were definitely not the first multicultural coeducational GLO in existence. My organization Theta Delta Sigma Society, Incorporated, which is coeducational and multicultural, has been in existence since 2001, and we're not even the oldest organization of our kind.
Why do these people call themselves Fraternity Sorority Society?

Not that I know of. Organizations such as ours are few and far between, and are often heavily regionalized to the point that individual Coed MCGLOs may not know other such orgs exist.

So, is the backwards "F" the symbol of DiGamma? How does one write DiGamma in Greek, or would it be Ancient Egyptian?
Personally, I see this group as another wannabe NPHC org. I could totally see this group being started by people who were rejected from their NPHC org of choice. (<--- I know this statement is not PC, but honestly that is how they come across to me.)

Yes, you may be a multicultural coeducational GLO and you may possibly have been founded before them. But are you a Fraternity Sorority Society? They are the FIRST Multicultural Fraternity Sorority Society.
