"On Thursday, February 14, 2008, several students were shot and killed and many more wounded in a gun-related incident at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Northern Illinois is the home of Tri Sigma’s Beta Alpha Chapter. At this time, all of our chapter members have been accounted for and are safe from injury. However, several of our chapter members know of relatives or close friends that were either shot or injured. We extend our sympathies to all who have suffered in this tragedy.
