What I have found through research is if you are allergic to ragweed, you should stay away from Chamomile. They have very similar protein structures. You would be surprised how many doctors don't know this.

I like to take Arnica Montana, a homeopathic remedy, to help prevent or treat muscle soreness. I originally bought it because it is supposed to help with bruises (I bruise easily). It does nothing for my bruises, but works like a charm on soreness.

You can take it as a preventative measure (before) or after you feel the aches coming on. For example, If I know that I'm going to spend a weekend helping my friend move house, I might take a couple of doses throughout the day to help prevent the inevitable soreness from moving furniture and boxes.

In my experience, the gels or creams don't work as well as taking the little tiny pills which come in a tube. They taste like sugar and 4-5 are meant to be dissolved in your mouth every few hours.

My fellow event management folks, who often spend 12-16 hours running back and forth across convention floors, also swear by it.

.....Kelly

Co-sign on the collodial silver. I've not had a midnight run to the emergency room with my tots (4 and 6) since discovering it. I put a little in an ear when they first complain of it "hurting" - and it seems to do the trick.
I am a big fan of Hyland's homeopathics - I've used them since my now 18 year old was a baby, and they've always been very effective.

I took Airbourne to avoid getting sick on a trip - and came down with a HORRIBLE cold. Don't know that it proves anything, but I'm not a fan.

1. Coricidin - if you have HBP and want to take something to alleviate cold a flu symptoms

2. Coldeez - good cold lozenges unless you just want to take straight zinc

3. baking soda - ok...not necessarily an OTC...but if you ever have an upset stomach and want something that works fairly fast...a spoonful in a glass of hot water and a few burps and you will be ok.

They used too, as an antibiotic. I think they now use a chemical instead.
