I like 'best' shirts
I do not own any, but I do not mind those kind of shirts. If I wear a shirt that says AKA is the best, I am not taking away from what another person thinks about thier org. I chose AKA because I felt it would be the best fit for me, not another person. So AKA might not be the best for everyone, but it is for me.
I am glad they love thier org as much as I do my own. I think of it as freindly competition. Some of us NPHCers, at my school, try to one up each other in terms of service (in addition to stepshows).

maybe another apples to oranges thing, but i don't mind them either. like sistergreek 1908Revelations said, AKA is the best - to her. and she can wear it on a t-shirt all she want, but it dont rub me the wrong way because SGRho is the best - to me. Tom, Dick and Harry can think whatever they want, but you cant tell me otherwise!

It's always friendly competition until someone takes it too far and starts showing their true selves. and no you dont HAVE to, but aren't we all comparing in our heads, from the full-fledged active, to the PNM/interest, even to the non-greek?

There's a difference between "We rule!" and "We rule, and you suck!"
One chapter I know had shirts that said "Stand in our shoes or stand in our shadows" I think it's pushing, or crossing, the line between pride and snobbery.

because its a holiday and i can argue this all night...
with shirts like that, youre not pinpointing any one org. all 3/4 other orgs (or in NPC case, all other 25 orgs) are getting hated on equal opporunity. its when you start calling particular orgs out it gets messy and and what not.
whoever has the audacity to, in so few words, put "your org sucks, and mine doesnt" on a shirt has issues and their chapter needs to check them.

Yeah I agree with the NPHC/NPC thing..we rib each other but its all good...as long as it doesn't get disrespectful no one gets too bothered.....

I forgot to mention earlier, that (bolded) was the theme for NPC Recruitment one year at my school.

Ugh.
It's just not panhellenic or classy. The other sororities on campus all thought it lacked taste, and though this chapter thought very well of themselves, suffice to say few outside of them did.
We never had problems with chapters ripping on others in chants or T-shirts. Regular old gossip took care of that.

I like the "stand in our shoes . .. " for recruitment because I think that part of our pitch to pnm is that greeks ARE leaders - that one reason you want to join is for the opportunities you have to develop those leadership skills and qualities which will serve you well in college and beyond. When we state that greeks are more likely to graduate, more likely to contribute to their alma mater, have higher g.p.a.s, etc.,we are backing our assertions by cold hard facts. I think it is important to have a unified front when presenting the benefits of membership - that's one reason why I don't like divisive slogans.
I wouldn't trade my Gamma Phi experience for anything, but I do think that had I become a member of any of the other fine NPC groups on my campus I would have had an equally great experience.

The problem with that as a Panhellenic theme is that people don't read it as Greeks are the people who will be CEOs, etc - they read it as Greeks are the snobby people who look down on everyone else and think they run the college.
Making it seem like your life will be shit if you don't go Greek is NOT the way to appeal to "maybe joiners" and it certainly doesn't help those who were cut in rush feel any better.
