I hate onions. Doesn't matter if they are sweet, red, yellow, or white. Sauteed, deep fried, or fresh. I don't like 'em. I occasionally will try them to see if my tastes have changed, but nope- still hate them!

Why? Because when they are cooked, they look like worms. When they are fresh they taste like a**.

Oh and brussel sprouts. YUCK!

My father-in-law won't eat rice because he thinks they look like maggots.

Gosh, I thought I could be a picky eater, but after reading this thread I think I do pretty well.

I simply cannot eat:

sushi
brussel sprouts
beets
yogurt (I've tried many times, but I just can't do it)
tomato aspic
avocados/guacamole
olives

I don't really care for (but can be a reasonable sport about eating):

lasagna
peaches
cherries
most soups or stews (I love corn or seafood chowders, though)
cooked carrots
banana-flavored things (bananas are okay, but no banana desserts)
chocolate cake

I've never eaten a P B & J sandwich, never had them growing up because my parents liked/always bought the chunky peanut butter w/ tons of nuts, and I hate nuts. One of these days I might try one.

The only milk I will drink is whole milk. Skim, 2%, etc I refer to as cow piss. It's watery and disgusting.

I don't drink hot coffee or iced tea. The closest I get is a Frappaccino or a cup of hot tea once in a while.

My list of stuff I won't eat:

Ham - yuck...it's all rubbery.
Jello salad with veggies in it - just because the jello is green is NOT an excuse to put carrots and celery with it.
Jambalaya - my mom used to make it as an excuse to get rid of leftovers
Veggie Soup in restaurants - You know what goes in there? Any leftover meat/veggies from the rest of the week. It's basically their garbage in soup form.
Split Pea Soup - It's babyfood...a jar of strained peas and a jar of strained ham and you have yourself Pea Soup.
Nuts in dessert, except baklava. Penutbutter doesn't count.

Add artificial banana flavoring to my list. We made that stuff in my high school chemistry class-- and after mixing up the chemicals I can no longer stand to eat it. So no banana flavored anything!

Tomato aspic is a staple of the traditional Southern lady's luncheon; it certainly always has been for my mother and my mother-in-law. It also appears at Sunday dinner and other "nicer" meals.

See this bookcover?

That's aspic on the stand, next to the deviled eggs (which, without olives, I love).

The book is hilarious, by the way.

Oh, and I could have added that I don't really like sandwiches, except for a good pimento cheese sandwich.

I've never seen olives on deviled eggs before. I'd ask if it's a southern thing, but my family has pretty southern roots and, like I said, I've never seen that before. Maybe it's a regional thing. I love olives, but can't imagine that they would be good on deviled eggs.

I've never seen aspic, so I've never had it. Again, maybe it's regional? It looks kinda weird... I'm going to google the recipe when I'm through with this post.
ETA: Hmmm... tomato juice, gelatin, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, sugar and hot pepper sauce? I'm not getting a good vibe about this! What is this dish served with (or is it eaten by itself)?

I would point out that I detest lima beans, but I don't think everyone else loves those.

This thread is really interesting! I can't believe some of you are so picky!

I couldn't resist sharing that I thought of y'all when my mother-in-law served aspic at Christmas dinner. Part of my wife's Christmas present to me was to eat a bite or two of mine any time my MIL left the dining room.
