Oh yeah, it makes sense to have a nautical theme, and that it just didn't speak to me shows how much I'm not a DG But I didn't know that Julia Sweeney's a DG! And I just didn't get the joke.

I didn't mean for it to sound bitchy or mean when I asked about the theme. The whole nautical thing made sense once I knew that their symbol was an anchor but when we went through recruitment, we didn't know that because the pamphlet we were given on each chapter just gave name, founding date, founding date at Long Beach, a picture of the house, the name of the President, and their philanthropy. I didn't get the nautical thing until later.

You know...AST's symbol is an anchor, too, and we don't really do the nautical thing. So maybe it's got nothing to do with that.

I would have cut this houses if they didn't cut me first.. maybe they cut me because of this lol-
I'm from Oregon and go to School at Wake Forest (North Carolina)-
So the sister I'm taking to asks me where I am from.
I respond that I'm from Oregon
She goes- "Oh, thats like in the midwest right?"
I respond-"Um, no. Do you know where California is?"
-"Yes"
"Do you know where Washington State is?
-"Yes"
-"Well, Oregon is right between them on the West coast"
Additionaly, one of my sisters had an "interesting" conversation- I don't know if it was the same house or a different one. lol
So she's talking to one sisters (1) about how she had lived in Peru for the Summer. Second sister(2) comes over.
Sister (1) introduces my friend to sister to and says "we were just talking about how she lived in Peru for a summer". Sister (2) then asks my friend if she learned a lot spanish. Sister(1) then turns to sister (2) and goes- "don't be silly, they don't speak spanish there, they speak Peruvian"

How in the world (or in this case, the U.S.) can someone who is in college think that Oregon is in the midwest?

I do honestly hate Alpha Chi's colors with a passion, but it certainly didn't stop me from pledging!

That's hilarious! My family is Norwegian and I've gotten some dumb comments about that. I've had multiple people ask me if Norwegians come from Norwegia. Ummm...no.

Honestly as long as she presented herself well, it wouldn't matter. "Unconventional" could mean any number of things, some will look good, some won't. The goal would be "looking good."

When I was at AOTT's pref they brought out a sheaff of wheat. Well, I apparently missed the memo and was convinced it was straw or hay - which i am deathly allergic to. I didn't think I could be an AOTT because I would have really bad allergy attacks when they brought out the "hay".
