I have a Dyson Animal now and a roomba-between the both I think I get up every piece of hair and no dirt is left behind. I LOVE my dyson animal. BTW I polled vets from around the US and the Dyson Animal was highly recommended for pet hair-they were so right! The roomba is great for under the bed-or other areas I can't get to with the Animal.

ETA, my cats were having episodes of coughing and reverse sneezing and now that I have the Dyson this has ceased.

I love, love, love my Dyson.AND for my tile floors I adore my iRobot Scooba - it cleans the floors better than any mop I've ever used. It also works well on my Pergo floors. It's disgusting how much dirt and yucky stuff I have to pour out of the tank - but I'm so happy when it is finished!
