Dyson Vacuums

Anyone own a Dyson?

We're about to buy the Dyson Animal dc07. If you own one, what do you think about it? Everything I have heard so far has been awesome!

Sorry, can't help you with that but I can say that we have one of those little Roomba guys and it is the greatest thing in the entire world. It's like a friendly little I-Robot.

I don't have one, but I know several people who own the animal one and they love it. Its definitely worth the $300-500 it cost.

After two years of asking for one, my parents bought me the DC07 for Christmas. IT IS AWESOME, especially if you have a pet. I am still amazed at the amount of stuff it picks up. It gets the smallest of dirt out of the carpet. If you buy it, it is an investment that is VERY worth it!

How are those things? I think they are the cutest things ever and will probably further contribute to my housework laziness. But I seriously need a new vaccum. I currently have my mom's first vaccum... that she got in the '70s... it's orange... and held together with duct tape.

I know they aren't cheap, so I guess, are they worth it? (I think the lowest I've seen is $150.)

I recently grabbed a special purchase Bissell at Wal-Mart. The thing was $50. All the filters are washable, so I'll never have to replace parts.

The thing is powerful. Our apartment has berber carpet, so dirt likes to 'hide' in it. At least it used to. The difference between this and our old vacuum is huge.

My friend has a Dyson (don't know which model) and she loves it! She told me that she would never buy another brand again!!

I'm considering investing in one of these things...they look amazing!

I goen thru 3 vacums since living in my new house and that has only been since nov of 2003....the carpet balls up and burns out my motor in the vacum. I been told to get a dyson but i dont want to spend that much for it to burn up too.

I do admit i would buy one if i wasnt so afraid it would break down also because of te carpet

The good thing about Dysons are a two-year warranty that comes with all new ones. The people at Dyson are also VERY helpful. I had a problem with a remanufactured one my mother had tried to buy me, it was broken. But Dyson was on the phone with me most of the afternoon trying to get everything right. Now I have a new one.

OMG, I just bought the animal DC07 today. AND, IT ROCKS MY WORLD!

I religiously vacuum everyday b/c of Max's asthma and eczema. With my old vacuum, I was picking up the dog hair, but it looked like there was no dirt coming up. So, I assumed the carpets were decently clean.

Now, I vacuumed with my Dyson and WHOA! I swear, I have never seen so much random dirt and stuff come up with a vacuum. I know I sound like a stealth marketer, but I really know that this thing is worth the $550 (after tax) that we paid.

The house even smells better now. My husband was skeptical until we vacuumed tonight.

Guys, I am truly amazed. I don't get this excited over household things usually. But, I think Max's asthma will improve since we're getting so much more out of the carpets. I actually feel ok about him crawling on the floor now.

Thanks, Mr. Dyson. You're my new hero. :D

For what it's worth, one of my friends from college had worked at a vacuum repair shop for several years and he swears by the German brand called Miele. http://www.mielevacuums.com/

Dyson pics

Yes, it works on bare floors. We used it on our linoleum tonight, too. It automatically adjusted from carpet to floor. The online site shows the pics and goes into detail on the differences between models.

I saw one model at Sam's Club tonight. But, we got ours at Home Depot. The only had the Animal and regular DC-07. The Sam's Club had the all-purpose dc-14.

Linens-and-things also had the 07s. They were the same price as Home Depot. Everywhere we looked had them for the same price. We tried to shop for the lowest cost, but like I said, they were priced the same everywhere.

The animal 07 was more expensive. It is supposed to be better at getting the hair up out of the carpets.

(P.S. Thanks for the advice on Buddy's eye a while back. Buddy's our pug. He's doing just fine now. And, doesn't even realize he's lost an eye until he bumps into something:). We really appreciated your advice!)

I remember -I am glad Buddy is doing well :)

I may get a roomba but will look into the Dyson as well-with 5 cats hair can be quite a problem.

Okay, then, if it can keep up with you and your six cats, I feel a lot better about selling it.
