Resurrecting the dead. . .
Leslie and the group from Bare Escentuals were on QVC from 9-11 and will be there again today from 3-5 (ET) and tomorrow from 1 AM-3 AM and 7 PM-10 PM (ET).
I thought I'd never use anything else but MAC, but I really do like the BE. I originally was using warm tan, but it seemed to be just a little bit ashy looking on me (and it's possible that I was using too much Mineral Veil as well). So a couple of months ago, I went to the BE store and exchanged the foundation, and the salesperson gave me just a little face color to add to my MV and suggested that I wear the face color as foundation instead of the foundation (she said it was the exact same ingredients as the foundation), and I'm quite happy! She also suckered me into a beautiful shadow (panther), that she "loves with darker skin tones" and I got the flawless application brush. Within the last couple of years, I have indeed become a "makeup junkie".
I'd love to hear more of your experiences with BE.

Totally Hooked...
I always watched the infomercial and I always wondered about the BE products. A fwe months ago I was visiting a friend in Orlando and they actually had a BE store. After I spent WAY too much money on make up, I am now very happy that I did. I feel my skin is heathier and I get a ton of compliments on looking great "without" make-up on when the truth is that I am wearing the BE Foundation and the warmth!
I still go to Chanel when I need a fierce red lipstick, though.

That's the store I went to. So they have that store, and Sephora is just a few steps away, unfortunately.

They put together some very cute sets for QVC--often you can get some good deals there and they will include items in QVC kits that are different from "retail". If you don't have time to watch, visit the website to see what they have.
That said, I have moved away from BE because I could not find a color I liked (I looked orange in photos ) and I found out that it is not as "natural" as I thought. I now buy my mineral make up from beautyblisscomsmetics.com thanks to a sorority sister who turned me on to them. Prices are a little better and the color selection in foundations is amazing!

I got 3 samples of their eye shadow. I like that you can buy the small samples because I don't wear makeup everyday, so it lasts for quite a while. Now I need to come up with a makeshift sifter so it won't be so messy.

I have been wearing Bare Minerals for a year and a half now. It is the only makeup that I want to wear. I love the way my skin looks with it on my face.

Oh yes--I LOVE the samples. Only a few dollars and you can have a ton of eye shadow colors. I tip the pot over so some product gets on the lid, tip it back over, and then use what is in the lid so that I don't get too much.

Really? I'd be interested in hearing about that... I'm very concerned about using non-natural products.

Well many cosmetics use something called bismuth oxychloride as a filler. You can read more about that here.
My sorority sister did the research on this and bismuth is basically a relative of arsenic and is used industrially for many things. Essentially, it is not natural, and while only part of many cosmetics, can still be harmful. Obviously people can argue that it needs to occur in large doses before it causes problems, but for me I say why take the chance.

How is it unnatural if it is a metal + salt? That's pretty "natural" to me. Just because something has other uses doesn't mean it's bad for you. Sounds like the most bismuth oxychloride causes is skin irritation. And trusting a competitor's website isn't exactly the most unbiased source.
