Bare Minerals
Since someone brought up Merle Norman (which I didn't know they still made) it jogged my memory about this.
Have anyone ever tried Bare Minerals makeup(I think the line is actualy called Bare Essentials)? What did you think? :) |
I love them! That line is the only line I will use. I have very sensitive skin and Bare Escentuals is the only thing I can use that won't make me break out. The coverage is great, you can't tell your wearing it, and it doesn't rub off when you hug people. The powder also has SPF 15 built into it, I have been really happy with it. They have really great eye shadows and glimmers too. I'd encourage anyone to give it a try.

It's not as easy to put on as a makeup sponge, but it's really not that bad. Once you get used to putting the right amount on the brush, applying it to your face is pretty much the same as putting blush on... just more circular movement and all over your face. The mineral veil does wonders for shine.

is it expensive? I've always been a physician's formula girl, but i've thought about trying bare minerals.

I wear it at work. I'm in the restaurant biz and cannot wear heavy make up that "melts". But I wear MNorman when I am not at work and it is great and has the best skin care I have found!
BMinerals can be bought at Sephora now. |

I have seen it advertised on TV a lot & want to get some!
I grew up competing so I learned to do my makeup by watching the makeup artists... Now that I have had a baby & have given myself a new make-over I think I definately wanna try this! Does anyone know if they have a website?? |

I've been using Bare Minerals for about a year...I love the fact that I don't feel the make up on my face. I use to use prescriptives and I could feel the foundation on my face. I'm still learning how to use the blush and glimmers...if you want to be on the safe side and don't use anything but foundation, I would suggest you use only the foundation and warmth, its what I started out with. The warmth gives just that to your face, oh and the mineral veil really sets it all.

There is a day spa in my city that sells Bare Minerals, so I'm going tomorrow to actually test the product and see if I like it. If their are overpriced, I may buy it there, but if they are, sephora, here I come. :D
I'll let yall know my opinion of the product. |
My experience....
I LOVED IT!! :D
I never thought I would find something better than Lancome, but I have. The power is SO FINE, its ridiculous. And it really does provide coverage and you can barely feel it. Bye Lancome :( (except for your mascara because it still is the bomb!) |

I've been looking into trying Bare Minerals for a while now, but just haven't quite mustered up the courage. I think I'll go over to their store today. We also have a Sephora -- did you find it was the same price to purchase through their store? |
I tried it and ended up returning it, although everyone else I know who's used it has loved it. I think it was just a combination of my not being able to master the application technique ('cause trust me, it's not as easy as those ladies on TV say! :p), and my skin type...it just felt sort of like a gritty mask on my face. Just certain parts, though. I also found that it didn't cover very well on me. But I hear it's wonderful if your skin is oily--I think someone said that already. It's definitely worth a try.
