I find it seriously offensive that you would compare undertaking the duty to serve one's country with undertaking elective membership in a social organization...
Sorority membership is nowhere on par with serving your country, and I'm getting a little tired of people treating their sorority like it is a sacred religion.
I am also not into this new trend of Greek Chatters finding new reasons to jump all newbies for their spelling or mis-speaking a comment here or there. Sometimes it is warranted. Most of the time... not so much. I'm all for having a laugh as much as anyone else... but seriously? President Kennedy wasn't talking about sororities.
What the hell is wrong with you people? Or maybe I'm the one with the misplaced priorities...

No, maybe you are right. I wrote this post in reaction to her calling the second chapter "the prettiest and kinda slutty group" -her terminology upset me. Usually I read all of the comments before posting. If I had, I would not have written my last post. She asked for help & sympathy, and she deserved it. However, like other posters, I found myself quesioning so much of what she said. GLO's are not like countries, and GC cannot be compared to politics. Forgive my last post, it was written in anger & way out of line.

Thanks. And forgive me, too, for jumping on you, as well.

Methinks the OP was simply trying to convey that you should care less about what benefits one could gain from something and focus more on what you can do for the benefit of the group.
I think you're being overly sensitive on this post/in this thread.

It means that in about fifteen minutes or less of google searching someone can figure out what school you go to (yes, some people do take the time).

Or, they can figure out your whole name in a three second google of your username... Yep, did it and will do it again. Three seconds out of my life for entertainment purposes is definitely worth it

Is it necessary to psycho-stalk people on Google?

Is it necessary to be overly-sensitive in so many threads? Jeez, are you having some kind of personal crisis in your life? You seem to be all, "Save the stupid newbies" lately. I don't think googling someone's username is CYBERSTALKING. What is up with you, srsly?

Seriously? Yes, it's annoying. But you all are just as bad if you don't even have the self control to stop yourselves from lashing out at a bunch of 18 year old girls in an internet forum. Sometimes, it's derserving, but most of the time, it is not.
I haven't said anything because I'm newer, but sometimes, this just gets totally out of control. Stop posting in threads if all you're going to do is make fun of the poster or try and invalidate everything they are saying.
I just don't get it.

FWIW, a lot of the newbies getting their heads handed to them this recruitment season are grown women who are well beyond their college years.
Just sayin'.

It wasn't too long ago that you yourself were the victim of cyberstalking by a now-banned Greek Chat Member.
And I appreciate your concern for my well-being. Srlsly.
