I'm a sophomore who just went through formal recruitment at OSU. I know that either two or three of the houses participated in open recruitment last year (because I was considering going through it spring semester), but on pref night one of my "Gamma Chi"s was saying that she wasn't sure if any houses were doing open recruitment this year because she thought all of the houses were expected to meet their quota.
Also, has your cousin considered going through formal recruitment next year? She might get to know some girls in sororities through classes or campus organizations. I'm personally very glad that I went through as a sophomore.
