There are lots of very natural things that I don't want to share with the 18 year old at the check-out.

That reminds me of the time I was at the grocery store and my son (who had recently been potty trained) was helping me unload the cart. As he put something on the belt, he would announce what it was so I heard "strawberries", "hotdogs", etc. - and then he put the pack of Always on the belt and announced "MOMMY DIAPERS!".
Sorry for the tangent.

I will avoid the lines with boy students that I know as baggers or checkers under these conditions, more to spare him the possibility of embarrassment than because it bothers me.

Nah, embarrassing is condoms, pregnancy test or yeast infection stuff. Or that pill you take for pain with a UTI along with gallons of cranberry juice.
For my period? I have no qualms whatsoever. We all bleed get over it.

I would proudly march to the CVS cashier with 100 boxes of tampons, pantiliners and pads and feel no embarrassment like I'd feel if I had to purchase something for "feminine itch" or "feminine odor". Those are the worst!

One better-a bottle of colace. I was on narcotic pain meds for quite some time and you wind up needing it but jesus it's embarrassing to buy.

I had my BF at the time buy me a box of pads. He came back with a genuinely bewildered look on his face.
Random thought:
I refuse to swim in the ocean whilst menstruating. According to Shark Week, some sharks can smell a drop of blood 1/2 a mile away. Why take the chance? lol..
I was told not to swim, wash, wash my hair, etc. I did all of the above and I am relatively ok.
ForeverRoses: I am LOL at the mommy diapers.. lol!!

I didn't care about buying colace. The packaging doesn't scream "I CAN'T POO". Besides, better that than something for explosive diarrhea.

Thank god I was out of commission for a good two weeks after I had my baby and I didn't have to go buy my own Colace...I made my husband do it for me.

I hated when I was in middle/high school when I had to go to the nurse to take medication. I was teased for taking "hyper pills". I lied and said it was allergy meds, they didn't believe me though. People were hella nosy.
