Ushmeka

I saw an update on People.com, and apparently Urrsshh and Manmeka had some, shall we say, stylistic differences on the wedding. Usher wanted celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to cater the wedding (great food, BTW. I've eaten at one of his restaurants in N.Y. and he's married to a sista), while 'Meka wanted barbecue.

Sorry, although I like a good barbecue (just had a beef rib and rice for breakfast), you don't do that at a wedding! Too much potential for mess.

Stop playing!!!! LOL
Why wait until the day of to cancel though knowing that this was potentially the reason? Caterers have to be booked in advance so surely Usher knew what Tameka wanted to have served at the wedding.

Food wasn't the only reason...

http://www.people.com/people/article...048727,00.html

When did Ben Verneen become his godfather?

And I can't believe that Usher's own mother wasn't invited to the wedding until the last minute. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't be where he's at today. Maybe her mother was trying to convince Chilli to come back (considering she was a part of the reason they broke up).

This is one HAM.

ETA: Has anyone heard that Eddie and Tracy are getting married?

Ben Vereen has always been his Godfather. I remember that being mentioned on Video Soul when he first came out.

Miss that memo.

ETA: Maybe it was something from Tameka's past...

Give me a few minutes and I'll try to find the National Enquirer link.

The part where she was been married more than once. One of her former lover's was a drug dealer who was killed execution style, per Meka's sis Valencia. I guess that was too much for Usher. Shucks, that's too much info for MOI.

See Usher, we don't always want to believe our parents. They haven't been through for NOTHING (anything). But, if all of this true and you have been disappointed, I'm sure your MOTHER was there for YOU with OPEN ARMS. Don't ever "diss" your mom, like that EVER.

This is my open and closed letter!

I saw it on the landing page of AOL this morning...that is strange to me, especially with the tell all article from Scary Spice in Essence where she stated that he was meeting her family and was about to marry her.

IMHO, I think that Eddie Murphy is trying desperately to camoflauge the belief that he is gay/bi-sexual. It is almost as if he thinks that as long as he keeps a woman around and has a gazillion kids that somehow people won't believe that he is that way. Or maybe he is someone who doesn't want to be alone (always has to be in a relationship with somebody), I don't know, but this all seems real sudden and suspicious to me....

True. I remember reading where Holly Robinson-Peete had soul food including greens and such at her reception. I guess they, like Tameka were trying to "keep it real". LMAO

Shawn is still on AH, she also does AH on TVOne commercial break segments.

Please tell me this is not the real reason why the wedding didn't take place. If they would let something like a difference in opinion on what to serve at the wedding stop them from getting married, their marriage doesn't stand a chance....

I am more inclined to believe that some people FINALLY got to Usher (whether it was about the pre-nup or other things) and he called it off...

I think that was only a mild reason. I suspect there's something deeper, but since it was from People mag, of course, the relative superficialities would be played up.

I mean, did this shock anyone?

Ushur, you could have done so much better.

Steeltrap: please report to the corner for "ManMeka".

Still about Eddie and Tracey, though. And exactly how long were Mel and Eddie together for them to meet parents and all that?

Bill Walsh passed away!
I loved the 49ers during his tenure.

I'm sadden to hear about Bill Walsh and Tom Snyder, who also passed away.

Remember the National Enquirer story I was looking for...

http://www.bossip.com/3581/usher-sma...ids/#more-3581

And to answer the question on the Tamika/Chilli confrontation...

http://www.bossip.com/3429/crazy-tam...off-on-chilli/

Wasn't one of the reasons Usher and Chilli broke up was because of his mom?

ETA: I guess he listed to AKA2D'91
