Drew Carey Is Bob Barker's Replacement
Jul 23, 4:29 PM EST

The Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Genial comic Drew Carey was tapped Monday to replace silver-haired legend Bob Barker on the CBS daytime game show "The Price is Right."

Carey confirmed the deal during a taping of the "Late Show" with David Letterman.

The selection attracted more attention than usual for a daytime show because of the prospect of replacing Barker, 83. Barker retired after 35 years in the job last month following taping of his 6,586th episode.

The opening attracted widespread interest, including from comic Rosie O'Donnell after she left "The View."

Carey, 49, spent a decade on his own ABC sitcom and also was host of the game show "Whose Line is It Anyway?," a comic improvisational show.

I saw this story last week. Maybe it wasn't official news because I didn't hear too much uproar about it. It doesn't matter anyway because I give the show three weeks without Bob. They'll have to step the game up and start giving away houses and Porshes in order for this show to last now. Folks love Bob and I'm afraid for the future of the show without him. TPIR without Bob is like the Young & the Restless without Victor. It's just unnatural.

I feel you RD. But I'm glad they chose Drew instead of a lot other they were considering (Rosie, Slater, George Hamiliton). I'm willing to give him a chance.

CLEVELAND ROCKS!!!!

'Hot Ghetto Mess' gets name change

LOS ANGELES - BET's provocatively titled "Hot Ghetto Mess," which drew sharp criticism and overshadowed the rest of the cable channel's new schedule, is getting an upbeat new name.

"We Got to Do Better" is the title the series will have when it debuts Wednesday, BET spokeswoman Jeanine Liburd told The Associated Press on Monday.

"We've decided to change the name because we want to highlight the show's real intent, which is to offer social commentary in a context that sparks dialogue, debate, and most importantly, change," BET said in a statement.

Um no! A mess is a mess is a mess. I wish BET would get taken off the air.

Seriously?

No for real?

Wow. Just, wow.

I always try to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but the people at BET are seriously retarded. Way to address the real issue people had with this show. Well done. Bravo.

For f's sake.
