I'm jumping on the bandwagon peoples!!! I joined WW at work today and I signed up for SparkPeople over the weekend. I'm LOVING that website...excellent resource.

I'm going to do Flex Points and phase myself into CORE. I'm also walking as my form of exercise for now.
YAY, TT!!! LOL Good luck with WW!! I know you'll do great.

Hey y'all! *waving* Just poppin' in with a little update. Well, not really anything to update. Still in the 170's. Not doing too much to get out of them, to tell you the truth. Still in a size 12 bottoms (I have one size 10 Old Navy jean skirt that I rock) and Medium tops. Still walking (running a little bit). Training for the marathon? Oh, I don't know (I haven't been sticking to my training schedule). I know I'm not fundraising, that's for sure. Not sure if I was ready for TNT like I thought I was. My life's all up in the air right now (same script, slightly different cast, still starring yours truly). Went to DC last week and people called me skinny. I didn't like it. At all. I've blogged about it... let it go, I guess.

The highlight of my week? I flew home from DC. And I FIT in the seat COMFORTABLY!!!!! No fat touching the people sitting next to me, and I was in the middle seat!!!! No problem with the seatbelt. AND I didn't have to turn sideways to walk down the aisle. It was a great experience. It really is the little things.

BB91, where did you decide to go for your sesquicentennial trip?

I LOVE coming to this thread and seeing everyone still on track and stuff. Helps me get back on track.

I have managed to lose about 4 pounds and am 6 pounds away from my first mini-goal. I get paid tomorrow and I am going to try to spare some money to get my gym membership back up and running. I MUST get back into the gym. I am TOO lazy to even get on a treadmill that I have right in the next room!! What's up with that? I was VERY consistent with my exercise when I was a member of the gym. I need that back.

It's slow going, but I am getting there.

I'm like you, then. I have a treadmill in the front room, and I will find every reason in this world NOT to use it. It's like the more convenient we make it for ourselves to workout, the less we do. Ain't that crazy?!? Go figure ...

OK, my poorness snapped me back into reality. LOL! I don't think I'll be joining the gym for another two months. Therefore, I am going to start praying to the Lord for discipline so that I may drag myself into that room and use that treadmill. I have to get myself together. I am going to look for a walking program online. I already have the Couch-to-5K program printed and pinned to the wall. I need to start doing it. Man, I REALLY need to do it!!

My eating is still under control. I still crave snacks every now and then. I try to satisfy them by eating fruit or drinking a cup of tea. However, sometimes, I just need to give in. I need to find some fulfilling low cal snacks. I had gotten hooked on 100 calorie packs, but sometimes, they just don't hit the spot. Know what I mean? Sigh....

This weight loss thing is CRAZY! LOL!

Ah!
I have no idea how I did it, but I lost 5 lbs. The last time I checked my weight was over a week ago and I went from 131 to 126! I haven't been working out though so I don't know what happened. I'll go back to doing pilates and riding my bike though.

Has anyone tried Jazzercise?

They're offering one at our local Rec and I really like to dance.

Man the variety is wonderful, lol.

I finally took a spinning class. It was horribly uncomfortable, those seats are not made for people with booty and I haaaated it. I hated it almost as much as I hate boot camp style classes. Hate. Ack.

It's official- the only classes i can take are lifting classes and dance classes. I would rather get on the treadmill for 6 miles than take a spinning or bootcamp class. No idea why, it's just the way it is.

Awww lovelyivy84 don't hate spinning it can really be fun. Ask the instructor if they have a cushioned seat/gel seat or next time bring a towel to wrap around the seat. As you go to the spin class more and more you'll learn to balance you weight to take the stress off your backside.

Can you tell I love spinning I've been spinning since January and it keeps me motivated. Try spinning one more time pleasssssssssssssseeeeeeee...okay you don't have to but choose classes that work for you. Goodluck reaching you health and fitness goals.

*whispering*go spinning one more time.

It's all mental, I am just not built that way. My mind HAS to have something to do while I exercise. Dance classes have me focusing hard on trying to remember the next steps. In weight classes I am concentrating on my form. When I get on the elliptical trainer I put ona book on tape. In spinning classes and boot camp classes it's just too monotonous, I can't do it. After 15 minutes all I can focus on is how uncomfortable I am and I am ready to climb the walls.

Currently my favorite form of exercise is window shopping. That's about all I've done since I started working for exercise, and I am down a pant size, lol.

Well that and changing from sandwiches at lunch to salads (the McDonald's southwest salad is GREAT as long as you go to a good McDonalds that makes the salads fresh). Lifestyle changes!

that's why cardio is hard for me. I don't know if I should but I've started breaking it up into 10 min. intervals. I'll do 10 on the treadmill then upper body strength training; 10 min. on the TM then lower body; 10 min. again then abs.

For a long time, I've heard people talk about how good they feel after working out and I just couldn't follow that but since I've started doing the above plus using the stretching thingy the gym has, I see what they mean!

I to love spinning. I took my first spin class it will be 5 weeks ago tomorrow, and after the first class yup the booty was a little soar, so yup I got a gel seat, and one week I forgot it, but it was all to the good, because yup I learned to balance the weight. I don't know once I get on the treadmill, or sttionary bike or ellipitical and have my iPod on the time just goes. The spinning instructor even makes that 45 mins go by like a snap.
