I agree with this. After a morning work-out, I'm extremely wide-eyed (like a bush baby) and alert.

Whereas I am grumpy and pissed at the world for me getting up early. Rational? No. But I am just not a morning person.

That's a wide gap..

I say get up around 5:30 and get about 30 min in and then do the rest to head off to work..

I know I know. Still not a morning person. Just a suggestion though.

ETA: Who says you have to go to a gym? Get you a workout tape and call it a day. Turbo Jam is my personal favorite.

Thanks for the tips, but I really really am not going to work out in the morning. I've had great success working out after work- all that's needed is commitment and putting effort into it. I started out with tapes, but I enjoy going to the gym and taking classes- the communal experience helps keep me motivated.

Post 150 Pounds Down (Unofficially)

Today I was down 3.8 lbs at my Weight Watchers WI. I needed another 0.6 to be 150 lbs down (officially) from my highest weight. I came home and weighed myself on our scale and was another 1.2 lbs down (169.4 for a total of 150 lbs lost)!

So rather than grousing about the other 0.6 that I "need," I am claiming the victory now and will be planning my day trip, probably for early August.

I never imagined three years ago when I began my journey that I would be where I am now. I have stretched myself (in body and mind) in ways I would have found inconceivable before.

In the meantime, I am creating my final goal poster (yep, the LV). Onward and downward!

Thanks to everyone on this board for your support! Web site will be coming soon ...

Walking is WONDERFUL!! before I began running, I use to walk a good 3 miles a day..in the mornings and 3 miles with a walking group. They say you should get about 10,000 steps per day to be in good health, which is about 5 miles. Way to go!

Congrats!! I need to be like you and WW. I've not removed as much weight as I would have like since joining WW a year ago. I know that this year alone, I haven't been as strict as I need to be, so I've got my goals in place..to lose up to 20lb by by b-day in Oct and another 10 by the new year. I know I can do it if I continue running like I have been.

Let me start by congratulation everyone that has started a program, has had success with a program (especially BabyBlue!!), and those who know that they need to jump back on the wagon. I am in the third category. Sigh....

I have gained about 5 to 6 pounds from my lowest weight. That's because I am have gotten EXTREMELY lazy. Not to mention I am poor and couldn't afford my gym membership anymore. I have no idea when was the last time I set foot in the Y. I have entertained the thought of just seeing how long I can get by at various gyms on guest memberships. LOL! I'd probably get busted. So, the new plan is to go it alone with my good ol' trusty treadmill, resistance bands, swiss ball, and (maybe) my Billy Blanks Boot Camp dvds. Something must be done.

I have also decided that I am no longer going to "restrict" my eating. I have realized that the more I "deprive" myself of certain things, the worse off I am. Therefore, I am going to eat the same foods that I have been eating, however I am just going to scale down my portions. I am also going to try to keep track of what I eat. I am going to have to figure out a way to log onto SparkPeople daily. I know that my weight was "under control" when I was logging into SP daily. I haven't been able to log on since I don't have internet at home.

[hijack]
I was able to roll up on a stray internet signal today. I've been online for about 9 hours now! Boy, how I've missed being able to use the internet at home! I hope this signal hangs on until I can get my finances back in order.
[/hijack]

So, I'm going to check to see if I can log on to SP from work. If so, that will allow me to take care of breakfast and lunch. And with a pre-planned dinner, this may be doable. I'm going to start again tomorrow. If I can't log on, I'll just have to go old school and use the good ol' paper and pencil method.

I KNOW that exercise is my problem. When I was working out, I ate the same way, but was losing. Now, the pounds are just creeping back on me. This is UNacceptable. It's about time to turn this thing around.

I hear you Redefined! That's where I was about 2 months ago, but I'm almost back on track- even without going to the gym much. It helps that I'm in NYC though- I now walk everywhere and have been realllly good about what I eat about 80% of the time- I still allow myself to indulge in things I really love (if I don't then I will do it later in bigger portions) but try to start the day right with a yogurt parfait and have a salad for lunch with protein- that way if I have pizza for dinner or have a brownie it isn't quite so bad. I'm not dieting- I'm just trying to establish healthier habits in picking what I eat.

The coffee helps too. A lot.

Treblk,

SP is Sparkpeople. It's a totally FREE website that has nutrition and fitness trackers, tons of helpful articles, message boards and a point system to allow you to (wait I don't think you get anything special for points..besides online trophies), they have SparkPages which allow you to have a blog and connect with folks. ALL SORTS of SparkTeams for whatever the occasion (profession, common interests, etc.) It's great! And again IT'S FREE!!
