Overused words...

I cannot stand the use of "gay" as a synonym for "stupid". I teach high school English and hear it all day long. Not in my own classroom though; I send kids to the office for saying it!

This and "retarded" make me cringe. There are so many other words in the English language. If something is stupid, lame, boring, useless, waste of time, etc. then call it stupid, lame, boring, useless, waste of time, etc.

I know I overuse a lot of the words mentioned: "oh my god", "like", "so", "awesome", "freaking", and "whatever". I also overuse "cool", "ok", and "blah blah blah".

Are you from Mass, NH, or RI? In MA especially, everything is "wicked", but it's usually used to stress something, as in, "it's wicked hot", or "I'm wicked tired".
