That's with the assumption that you can trust your one person 100%.
Most people can't and diseases are contracted and spread while people are supposed to be in "monogamous relationships."
Also remember that many people trust their significant other's word for it when he or she says they're clean. No asking to see test results and no challenging of what things your mate was tested for. For instance, herpes tests weren't included in the STD testing for many testing sites. You had to specifically request it, separately, but people didn't know this and thought they were being tested for the works. Plus many people don't get tested for HIV.

true... and plus the cost for getting a herpes test, at least here in VA is over $200... the STD clinic I work offers a sliding fee for STD testing and HIV testing is free, so the most you'll pay for chlamydia, syphillis, gonorrhea, hep A, B, and C is $25... even at the clinic they don't push for herpes testing. Since most people have come on contact with some sort of the herpes virus (cold sore, or chicken pox), majority of the general population aren't aware of how vital it is to test for herpes, at least genital herpes (herpes simplex II)

They told me I got an A and a B on that test. And I thought it was a good thing.

Well, it is my understanding that most of these non HIV viral tests are difficult to test because these are blood tests. Since HIV directly affects immuno-competent cells with a CD4+ tag, then it is readily detectible by blood.
Either way, you all be careful with your lovers and make them wear a physical barrier. And if you are female who has sex with males, use some level of birth control if you are not planning on pregnancy...
Because the worst is giving birth with an active STI (sexually transmitted infection) infection that gets passed on to the kid.
As far as "throat cancer" by oral sex. The mouth has everything in it. Throat cancer is like a squamous cell carcinoma (I think?). That means the cells had some nasty bug, like yeast or a tape worm, or environmental trigger, like smoking, that set it off. Unless dude eats leaded dirt with human poop and drinks battery acid, a generalized STI, like HPV or Herpes, is not going to survive the esophageal mastication. It could happen, but extremely rare and highly unlikely.

lol
I just skimmed through the article, and I've never heard of getting cancer from having oral sex. My dentist told me that you can get cancer of the mouth just by not taking care of your teeth and gums. I wonder if the people that this article applies to just have bad hygiene.

To add to this, you could be with one person for a time, and it doesn't work out. So, you go on to the next 'one' person. They don't work out either. Then it's the next 'one' person. You get the picture. Also, people could have diseases that they weren't even aware of until years later, like HPV and chlamydia. That 'one' person thing just doesn't always work out the way you would like.

Definitely!! That's how the "one person" theory works for the average individual. And the "dorminant" disease thing is real. Thanks for bringing that up.

cause the infected girls are too busy riding bicycles in the woods and taking dance lessons (in their commercials, of course)

Hey, it's 2007 and it's that FWB garbage that's the in thing now. In return comes the STDs. Being committed to one person is a thing of the past, now jokers are getting throat cancer from oral sex. I wonder what will be next? I wonder how many jokers on GC had or have an STD.

I don't know what FWB is, but STDs and cheating are nothing new. They've been around for centuries.

PB, i agree with Mulattogyrl, Idk what FWB is, but it's easy for you to judge about having an STD and I personally don't, however I do have friends that have had them and luckily been able to get medication to get rid of them. These people are not sexually promiscious and were in long term relationships, and their s.o. cheated or other similar situations.
My point is, you're taking an article as truth that isn't true (I myself did think that this could be true, but have since decided otherwise) and using it to go on your tirade. People are not always truthful, maybe in your perfect world, with your perfect girl, people don't cheat, no one has an STD and everything is great. However, that is not real life. Don't shove your ideals on other people and judge them for doing otherwise

Sweatheart, your <1 minute climax concluding in ejaculation is not worth all the drug regimens required to minimize utter pain by having an sexually transmitted infection, including HIV/AIDS. J/K
Everyone here, you all need to know how to crank it out before you get your groove on... Somewhere, I tell you all how and some folks don't like it.
Kama Sutra and Tantra... Really.
